Thorek Memorial Hospital, Chicago IL

Thorek Memorial Hospital At Midwest Rapid Opiate Detoxification Specialists, LLC, we are committed to helping individuals begin their journey towards permanent recovery in the safest, most comfortable environment possible.

All prospective patients are given a comprehensive screening and evaluation to confirm they are a viable candidate for anesthesia assisted rapid detox. After successfully completing the assessment, the patient is admitted to a private room at an acute care medical center on the day prior to having the procedure performed. Some rapid detoxification providers offer to perform the procedure in an out-patient setting, but unfortunately, this has led to documented cases of medical complication and mortality. As a leader in the field, MRODS performs the procedures exclusively in acute care medical facilities.

In Chicago, the AAROD procedure is performed at Thorek Memorial Hospital, a 218-bed, acute care facility (www.thorek.org) located near Lincoln Park. The hospital is easily accessible by public transportation. In the Dallas area, the procedure is performed at Kindred Hospital Mansfield -- a hospital which is accredited by the Joint Commission in recognition of their commitment to providing safe, high quality health care.

Family members are encouraged to be part of the process and are welcome to be with the patient throughout the stay. The actual rapid detox procedure will be performed in our state-of-the art rapid detox area. Patients remain in the hospital overnight for monitoring and then will be discharged the following morning.

MRODS recognizes that detoxification is only the first step in recovery from opiate dependency. Upon completion of the AAROD phase of treatment and discharge from the hospital, the patient begins a continuing care program to assure ongoing recovery.
