Lorcet

lorcetLORCET -- Lorcet is the brand name for the controlled substance combination of acetaminophen (Tylenol) and hydrocodone. Lorcet comes in tablet and capsule form and is prescribed for moderate to moderately severe pain and is to be taken on a 4 to 6 hour scheduled basis. The Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and fever reducer. The hydrocodone is a semi synthetic narcotic, opioid pain reliever that is usually used to decrease pain and relieve coughing. Hydrocodone addiction in recent years has been on the rise.

Lorcet is similar in properties and risk of abuse and addiction as Vicodin and other comparable opiates. As a narcotic Lorcet is a drug that often leads to abuse and physical dependency, the drug falls into the opiate category, which causes long term mental as well as physical addiction. When taken in high doses Lorcet can cause liver failure and death. With any physical dependency come withdrawal symptoms, Lorcet's include, nausea, vomiting, sweating, agitation, runny nose and goose bumps.
